The New Media Age Marketing Services Guide, now in its’ sixth year, ranks agencies from several disciplines based on gross profit from that area of business.  It ranks the top 44 search companies in the UK, with VCCP Search ranked 19th after an impressive 2010 which included major new business wins such as News International, O2 and Virgin Moneys organic search.

Revolutions Sarah Shearman looks into a report which shows the Yahoo!-Bing alliance gaining momentum in its uphill battle to challenge Google. Paul Mead of VCCP Search on The Jury said “These are encouraging signs for the Yahoo!-Bing Alliance , but don’t read too much into the stats on higher conversion rates and ROI. This is a function of lower cost-per-clicks due to less competition and lower click volumes, which can naturally deliver a higher conversion rate.”

Compiled by Jake Hird and Linus Gregoriadis, the report contains profiles of 27 leading UK agencies, but is missing one or two notable names – VCCP Search being the main one of course!  Hands up – we missed the deadline despite frantic chasing from Jake and the Econsultancy team.
